"Let's get down to business, shall we?", she asked me, as she started to sit down on the chair across mine. Damn, I should have been the one to have said that. She's good.
"What is your favorite color?", was the first question I blurted. Uh-oh. She reached for her glass of orange juice and took a long sip first before she answered me.
"What do you think?", she said, as she leaned back slightly, not taking her eyes away from me.
"Is it blue?", I asked.
"Yes. Blue makes the world go round."
"And why is that?"
"Because it is the color of the ocean. It is the color of the sky…it is the color of my heart."
Blue is the color of her heart. I replayed her answer in my mind in an instant, trying to recall the way she said it, the way she looked saying it. No, I couldn't see, hear any bitterness in her voice. But I had to ask.
"Are you lonely?"

She was wearing a blue dress that reached down her ankles, made of a light material that quivered at the very light breeze of her every movement. She was barefoot, comfortable in the plush carpeting of the hotel room where we were to hold our interview. She was born as Tara Leigh Patrick, but she is known to men all over the world as the vivacious Carmen Electra.
She smiled. "Oh no, I am not"
"Then why is blue the color of your heart?"
She looked at me. "Do you really want me to answer that?", she asked after a long pause.
"Oh", I said. "No, you don't have to answer if you're not comfortable"
"Does it look to you like I'm uncomfortable?" There was a hint of smile in her eyes.
No, she doesn't. Alright, I will ask her again.
"Why is your heart blue?"
She took a deep breath before she spoke.
"For a while I have been struggling. I felt like the world didn't understand me at all", she began. She then stood up and walked towards the window. She motioned for me to follow her.
I stood up, and looked out the window with her.
"I made movies, I hosted, I posed. I fell in love a hundred times. Then I got my heart broken a thousand times…"
I looked at her, fearing to see a tear in her eye. There was none.
"It took me a while to figure out that nobody will understand me, unless I understand myself, you know what I mean?"
I nodded. "Yes, I know what you mean."
"Then I started taking steps to really get to know the real me, to make peace with myself. And it got easier to make peace with the world"
She then walked back to her chair. I followed and sat down.
"My heart is blue because it is at peace."
I understood. I looked at my watch. It is time.
"Thank you Carmen, for this interview", I said.
"The pleasure is mine", she replied.
I gathered my things, and we both stood up. She shook my hand and I left.
"Then why is blue the color of your heart?"
She looked at me. "Do you really want me to answer that?", she asked after a long pause.
"Oh", I said. "No, you don't have to answer if you're not comfortable"
