World famous celebrity Heidi Montag on Monday received the
honorary degree for Doctor of Fine Arts from Yale University.
"I know it is not so easy to get such recognition," said Heidi. "The recipients every year are all elites in the world. As a reality TV star, I feel so happy that I could have such an honor to receive it."

Other recipients of honorary degrees from Yale along with Heidi
Montag include Robert Alter, a noted scholar whose seminal work on the Hebrew
scriptures has led to new insights by those in the academic community as well
as in the community of faith, Steven Chu, the U. S. Secretary of Energy, and
Ellen Johnson Sircleaf, President of the Republic of Liberia and the first
woman ever elected president of an African nation.
Past recipients include Benjamin Franklin, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Steven Spielberg and Paris Hilton, who received the honorary degree last year.
Montag broke into the showbiz scene when she starred in the critically acclaimed MTV series The Hills. Heidi also collaborated with producer David Foster and released her not so well-received first single "Higher" on February 5, 2008. Montag's debut album, Superficial, was digitally released on January 11, 2010. The album sold just over 1,000 copies its first week.
Heidi also launched a signature fashion line, Heidiwood, at a fashion show at the Hollywood and Highland shopping center in Hollywood on April 11, 2008
Montag was almost in tears as the honorary Doctor of Fine Arts Tiara was placed on top of her head by Yale University Dean Clark Kent.
"For showing the world her true beauty and talent, we hereby confer on Heidi Montag this honorary degree for Doctor of Fine Arts," Dean Kent said as he congratulated Heidi while sizzling hot pictures of her were flashed on a giant screen behind them.
